Business English - Frequently Asked Questions
1. What’s the difference between General English and Business English?
Business English focuses on the language and communication skills used in the workplace—emails, meetings, presentations, negotiations, and industry-specific vocabulary—while General English covers everyday topics and broader language skills.
2. What level of English do I need to take a Business English course?
Most of our Business English courses are suitable for learners who are at intermediate level (B1) or higher. If you’re level is A.2 or lower, we can arrange a mixed course with a more general focus to start, gradually becoming more business focused. Feel free to contact us and we will test your level and help you to get started.
3. Will this course help me with emails and reports?
Absolutely. Business Writing is a key part of our Business English offer. You’ll learn how to write clear, professional emails, reports, proposals, and other workplace documents.
4. Can I improve my speaking confidence in meetings and presentations?
Very much so! Many of our clients want to feel more confident speaking up in meetings, making presentations, or negotiating. We focus on practical language and strategies to help you do just that.
5. Is the course tailored to my job or industry?
Yes—our Business English courses are customized based on your role, goals, and professional context. We focus on the vocabulary, situations, and skills that matter most to the learner. We’ll need your feedback and input, of course, but once we have that, we can create new content that will be extremely relevant and directly related to your work, business or career needs.
6. How long does it take to see results?
Most learners notice improvement in fluency and confidence after just a session or two. Long-term progress depends on your goals, starting level, and how often you practice between sessions. The idea is that what you learn this morning, you can start using this afternoon.
7. Do you offer one-to-one or group sessions?
We offer both. One-to-one sessions are ideal for personalized focus, while small groups work well for team training or learners at a similar level with shared goals. Groups are also, of course, more cost effective.
8. Can I take Business English if I’m looking for a job or promotion?
Yes—our courses are perfect for professionals who want to strengthen their CV, prepare for interviews, or feel more confident taking on new responsibilities in English-speaking environments.
9. Do you provide certificates at the end of the course?
Yes, we provide a certificate of completion that reflects your participation and the skills you’ve developed. This can be useful for HR records or professional development portfolios. We also give you regular feedback on your progress.
10. Is Business English useful even if I don’t work in an English-speaking country?
Absolutely. English, as the global language of business, is now used everywhere in the world. Most of our clients use it in emails, video calls, international projects, or while working in multinational teams—regardless of where they themselves are based.
