Young Learners – Frequently Asked Questions
1. What ages do you teach?
We offer English courses for children from around 08 y/o through to teens preparing for university. Lessons are grouped mainly by ability but taking age very much into account, so that learners are similar to the others in their group both in terms of age and ability, which ensures the right environment, pace and challenge for each learner.
2. Do you prepare students for exams like Cambridge or IELTS?
Yes! We offer full support for Cambridge English exams (YLE, KET, PET, First) and IELTS for teens. We focus on building the language skills and test strategies needed for success—without unnecessary pressure. [See our separate section on Exam Preparation.]
3. How are lessons delivered?
All our courses are delivered online in a secure, interactive virtual classroom. We use activities, games, and structured tasks to keep learners always engaged and progressing.
4. Will my child enjoy learning online?
Absolutely. Our lessons are designed to be lively, friendly, and full of interaction, with plenty of encouragement and variety. We make our lessons as much fun as possible, so they are constantly engaged.
5. Can parents get progress updates?
Yes—we offer regular feedback to parents and guardians. You’ll know how your child is doing, what they’re learning, and what to expect next. We also let parents know immediately if any problems arise.
6. How long is each course?
Course length can vary and depends on many factors, but we typically recommend blocks of 20 or 30 one-hour lessons. We also offer ongoing support for learners who want to continue developing over the school year.
7. Is homework required?
We do provide practice activities between sessions to reinforce learning—but we keep it light and age-appropriate. We very much believe that children having fun while practising – but in a practical way, e.g. scenarios where they are on holidays and must help their parents dealing with hotel staff) – is much more successful than boring, often irrelevant exercises.
8. What textbooks do I need to purchase?
Nothing. Everything is provided by us.
9. How do we get started?
Just contact us for a free consultation! We’ll recommend the right course, schedule a trial session if needed, and help your child get started with confidence.
